Acupuncture Infertility IVF
In our over 24 years of practicing TCM and applying its principle to treating
infertility, we found that most hormonal inbalances which are considered

In vitro fertilization (IVF) refers to the union of egg and sperm outside the
body. In a broader sense, it is an assisted reproductive technology that offers
hope to individuals and couples who are otherwise unable to conceive on their
own. Since its development, millions of healthy children have been born
worldwide as a result of IVF.
The physicians at the Ottawa Fertility Centre have extensive training and
experience in reproductive surgery. We offer minimally invasive surgical
procedures including
hysteroscopy, laparoscopy and mini-incision techniques to reduce discomfort and
recovery time. Our surgeons provide expertise in the treatment of fertility
related conditions such as endometriosis, fibroids, uterine septum, Asherman's
syndrome and tubal disease. Surgery is performed at the Ottawa Hospital.
For patients who have had their tubes 'tied' (tubal ligation surgery) it may be
possible to restore fertility by reconnecting the fallopian tubes. One of the
main predictors of
pregnancy following this surgery is the original method of tubal ligation. The
reversal procedure is performed under general anaesthesia, through a small
bikini-line incision. After an overnight stay in hospital, patients go home the
next day. Recovery time can vary.
