Information about Egg donation

It is a matter of fact that almost every woman wants to experience the pleasure of getting pregnant and giving birth to a child.

But there are some women are not able to feel this experience. Reason is that all women have different types of hormone activities. Every woman doesn’t have the ability to release matured eggs. There are some women who are born without this ability. Gonadal Dysgenesis and Turner Gonadal are the diseases which causes eggs absence. In any of above situation, one option that comes in mind is search for a donor that can help in completing the family. Donors are the one who donate the eggs so that the eggs may be carried in the uterus of the needy.

The procedure of egg donation is not that easy as it seems to be. First of all in egg donation process the donor is required to undergo a number of tests and medical evaluations. There are many types of medical evaluation in egg donation process like testing the hormone level, pelvic exam, fallopian tubes, uterus and also ultrasound of ovaries. Not only this, donor is also interviewed by a psychologist which is to judge that how much the donor is prepared for egg donation. When all this procedure of mental and medical evaluation is complete, donor has to sign a legal contract which clarifies that the donor is donating eggs in exchange of money. But situation is not same every time, means it is not that egg donation is done for money every time. Sometimes situation is related to emotions also. In cases of close friends or family relations, egg donation is also done for helping purpose. Donating the eggs is a very hard decision to make for a person.

Cycles of the egg donation lasts between three to six weeks. It is important that the menstrual cycle of the desired and the donor should be in parallel so that eggs can be removed from the donor and can be planted in the recipient in the best possible way under mild anesthesia. If the timing of the implantation is perfect, chances of positive results increase. After this implantation process the donors are given pills of birth control. By this the menstrual cycle of the donor is again regulated in a normal way and the matured eggs also get released. Also it is required that the donors should visit the physician regularly for the checkups after egg donation.

Before implantation it should be assured that the time is perfect, otherwise you may not get the desired results. Recovery time for the donors after all this process completes is of one to two days.

Sperm of the male are retrieved on the day from the donor or spouse. After that the egg are injected with the sperm, the procedure is held in a lab until fertilization gets started. Fertilization is observed after 18 hours when the sperm is injected in to the eggs with the help of microscope. Eggs are observed for up to 72 hours of fertilization before they are planted into the uterus. Whole observation is carried very keenly so that no carelessness occurs and there are maximum chances of getting the positive results.
