Fertility Specialist Doctor Bridgeport Connecticut
The majority of the practice is devoted to fertility treatment and is geared
toward personalized care.
All initial appointments are with the Doctor and are one hour in length. Each
patient is given the option of choosing a problem-oriented approach where
individual fertility problems are uncovered and treated, often allowing
"natural" conception, or a more aggressive approach using fertility drugs, IVF
and other advanced technologies as needed. Donor sperm and donor eggs are
available if needed.

Many couples who have fertility problems have been able to conceive a child
through the use of In Vitro Fertilization (IVF). At The Center for Advanced
Reproductive Services, the In Vitro Fertilization Program treats couples whose
fertility has been impaired by conditions such as tubal problems,
endometriosis, male factor infertility, unexplained infertility, and for those
who have failed prior treatments.

In vitro fertilization (IVF) involves a series of complex procedures, including
the administration and monitoring of medications which stimulate the ovaries to
produce multiple eggs; the retrieval, fertilization and laboratory culture of
these eggs; and the growth and eventual transfer of viable human embryos into
the uterus. IVF creates an environment, which allows for maximal interaction
between as many eggs and sperm as possible, and fosters the creation of multiple
embryos, which can then be introduced directly into the uterus under highly
optimized conditions.

Initially IVF was developed to overcome infertility due to problems of the
fallopian tube (such as blockages or scar tissue), but it has evolved into a
successful treatment for almost all causes of infertility. With the introduction
of intracytoplasmic sperm injection or ICSI (injecting a single sperm into the
egg), virtually all causes of male infertility
can be overcome. IVF can be successful as long as healthy eggs and sperm can be
obtained from couples.

Sperm Banks in NY & NJ: Fertility Testing, Sperm Washing for IUI
A comprehensive semen analysis is one of the appropriate first steps if a couple
is having trouble conceiving. In 60% of all couples experiencing infertility, a
male factor is involved. It is primarily a male factor in 40% of these couples
and in an additional 20%, it is a combination of male and female factors.
Because a comprehensive semen analysis is noninvasive, it is often the first
test in any couple's evaluation.
