Infertility is a disease of the reproductive system that impairs one of the
body's most basic functions: the conception of children. Conception is a
complicated process that depends upon many factors: on the production of healthy
sperm by the man and healthy eggs by the woman; unblocked fallopian tubes that
allow the sperm to reach the egg; the sperm's ability to fertilize the egg when
they meet; the ability of the fertilized egg (embryo) to become implanted in the
woman's uterus; and sufficient embryo quality. Finally, for the pregnancy to
continue to full term, the embryo must be healthy and the woman's hormonal
environment adequate for its development. When just one of these factors is
impaired, infertility can result.
No one can be blamed for infertility any more than anyone is to blame for
diabetes or leukemia. In rough terms, about one-third of infertility cases can
be attributed to male
factors, and about one-third to factors that affect women. For the remaining
one-third of infertile couples, infertility is caused by a combination of
problems in both partners or, in about 20 percent of cases, is unexplained.
The most common male infertility factors include azoospermia (no sperm cells are
produced) and oligospermia (few sperm cells are produced). Sometimes, sperm
cells are malformed or they die before they can reach the egg. In rare cases,
infertility in men is caused by a genetic disease such as cystic fibrosis or a
chromosomal abnormality.
The most common female infertility factor is an ovulation disorder. Other causes
of female infertility include blocked fallopian tubes, which can occur when a
woman has had pelvic inflammatory disease or endometriosis (a sometimes painful
condition causing adhesions and cysts). Congenital anomalies (birth defects)
involving the structure of the uterus and uterine fibroids are associated with
repeated miscarriages.

IVF treatment India
Infertility afflicts thousand's of married couple's leading to untold mystery
and frustration. In India 15-20% of the married couple's in their fertile age
group, are the sufferers, and it is on the increase because of Urbanization,
Pollution, Stress, Chemical exposure, Competitiveness, Career Orientation, Late
settlement in life etc. And by the present statistics it is about 20%.
With the recent advancements in the management of infertility, the couple can
realize their dream more reliably and that to at a fraction of what it costs to
seek similar treatment abroad.
In simple terms, IVF means fertilisation outside the body. After ovarian
stimulation, eggs are collected from the woman's ovaries and then fertilized by
the husband's sperm in a petri dish or a test tube in a controlled laboratory
environment. The resulting embryos are deposited into the woman's uterus by
embryo transfer. If the process is successful, one or more embryos will implant
in the lining of the womb and the woman will become pregnant.
We specialize in each and every aspect of infertility and provide comprehensive

Dr. Kuldeep Jain started his academic carrier as a multi disciplinary gold
medalist & university position holder. The magnitude & plight of infertile
couples & Iure of
Laparoscopic surgery roused his interest as early as PG student and he performed
more than 200 Laparoscopies & published research papers on infertility during
his post graduation. Thereafter he gathered vast experience & expertise from the
prestigious Nanavati Hospital Mumbai & later on as Senior Reader at U.C.M.S. &
G.T.B. Hospital. He started IUI programme at G.T.B. Hospital, continued his
research work & published more than 35 papers in National & International
Journals. He has been on the forefront of organizing various workshop &
conferences on Infertility & Laparoscopic surgery & is National faculty at
various infertility conference and workshop.
The basic IVF treatment involve the development of many good quality eggs by
fertility drugs, monitoring of the complete cycle by means of ultrasound and
different other tests, Collection of Eggs, Fertilisation of eggs outside the
women’s womb in a test tube and transfer of embryos into the women’s womb.
The procedure starts from certain test of blood sample to check the woman’s
womb, ovaries and hormone level such as LH, FSH, Estrogen etc. then ultrasound
scan to
check the lining of uterus and ovaries. HIV, Hepatitis & Other infections are
ruled out in both partners, A detailed semen profile is carried out.
Certain fertility injections prescribed for the superovulation to stimulate the
ovaries to produce multiple eggs rather than a single egg. The whole process is
monitored by
Doctor himself by the help of series of Ultra Sound Scans which includes
monitoring the development of follicles, and lining of the uterus. The doses of
fertility drugs may be changed accordingly usually 20 days injection are
sufficient to produce desired response.
The most common technique Vaginal Ultrasound Guided Egg Collection procedure is
followed in which a fine hollow needle is inserted into the ovary through vagina
under
ultrasound guidance which suck out the fluid from the follicle which contains
the eggs. The procedure takes not more than 30 minutes and done under mild
anesthesia. After collection of egg they are placed in well prepared culture
medium to examine the maturity. The eggs are then placed into an incubator for
certain time before fertilization with sperm. On the same time semen sample is
also collected from the male partner. The sperm is washed and keep ready for
fertilization. The procedure is a day care procedure and patient goes home after
2 to 3 hours rest.
